On December 1, 1955, a 42 yearold African American woman was arrested due to failure in complying to the laws of segregration when the bus driver James F. Blake asked her to give up her seat to let a white passanger sit. This refusal sparked a new motive in the black American's society to contest for the inequalites they experienced and revoke the laws of segregation.
